At first glance, the Volkswagen ID.3 may appear too pricey to significantly impact the electric car market and attract more buyers. However, even prior to the arrival of more affordable versions next year, the ID.3 holds up well against existing offerings, positioned above superminis like the Renault Zoe and Opel Corsa-e in terms of image, price, and space. It outshines the Nissan Leaf in appeal and gives the outstanding Kia and Hyundai crossovers a strong competition, while remaining noticeably less expensive than the Tesla Model 3. Although it may not be perfect, the ID.3 is an impressive car that represents a notable step forward in Volkswagen's electrification efforts.
